Creamy mushroom Toast

Ingredients:

  • 200g button mushrooms (sliced)
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 1 clove garlic (minced)
  • 1/4 cup heavy cream
  • 1 tsp Dijon mustard
  • 1 tsp fresh thyme (or parsley) for garnish
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 4 slices of bread (toasted)

Method of preparation:

  1. Heat butter in a pan and add garlic, cooking for 1-2 minutes until fragrant.
  2. Add the sliced mushrooms and sauté until they release their water and start to brown, about 5-6 minutes.
  3. Stir in the mustard and heavy cream, and cook for 2-3 minutes until thickened.
  4. Season with salt and pepper, and stir in fresh thyme or parsley.
  5. Spoon the creamy mushrooms on toasted bread slices and serve immediately as a delicious snack or appetizer.
